This is Caramel again!
Boy, did we get into trouble yesterday. Rocky and I were not getting along, so our foster parents took us back to the animal behavioralist. We were bad there, too. BOY WAS THAT NOT THE THING TO DO.
I think the behavioralist is going to teach my foster family how to help us. She taught them how to work with us on long leashes, and we get treats just for making eye contact with these people! It's AWESOME! I heard that we get to go back for a class next week and I am looking forward to that.
Rocky and I still have to stay in different rooms. I miss him, but I bet we get to stay in the same room again once we get along better.

Rocky here again...
Today our foster family took us to the veterinarian. We've been to one of those before, but this one was different. I am really mad that they took us to the veterinarian and made us get shots and baths. I am also really mad that the veterinarian looked at Caramel first. Who does he think he is??? I ALWAYS go first, and I'm really mad at him right now. I think Caramel probably made a deal with the veterinarian. I'm tired of that Caramel always being such a brown noser.
I got in trouble at the appointment because I got mad and tried to bite my brother. He tried to bite me too! It's not my fault, I think he deserved it...
I do like the people at the veterinarians office, though. They were very nice and looked at my teeth and hair. They weighed me and gave me some tasty treats. Once they learn to give me attention first, we will be good pals.
Anyways, they moved my crate upstairs and left Caramel's crate downstairs in our room. I miss being able to sit and talk to Caramel. I heard my foster mom tell my foster dad that we can't be together until we get along better. Maybe I should be nicer to Caramel. He is my best friend. I don't know why I get jealous of him like I do...I wish I didn't do that...

My name is Caramel, and I am a stray dog. My brother and I were taken in by a nice family a couple of days ago, and we sure are happy to be here. We get to stay in our very own crates. That is nice because my brother, Rocky, is not always nice to me. He wants to be the boss all the time and is always trying to get me to fight with him. Sometimes it works, and then we get into trouble. I think that's why our first owner dumped us. I guess he didn't think we could ever be good dogs...
I think our new foster family wonders whether or not we are good dogs, also...They took us to visit something called an animal behavioralist today. She's a really nice lady. I tried to act my best and wag my tail at her as much as I could because we really need to find a good home. I don't want to go back to the shelter. I heard my foster mom say that the shelter will put us to sleep because we are pitbull mixes. I guess pitbulls aren't allowed in many towns in this area. I wonder why?
My foster family has two children, both little girls. They are a lot of fun and give us a lot of attention. We never had a lot of attention before, and I like it. I wag my tail at them as much as I can. Maybe they will know that I like them, and maybe they will like me too.
My foster mother looks tired and worried. She takes us for a couple of walks a day and is gentle and quiet with us. I like that, too. I like going out and sniffing everything. I think she likes Rocky and I. My foster dad looks worried, too. He is the tallest person I have ever seen, we have to look waaaaaay up to him. I wonder how he got so tall?
Our foster people seem to have a couple of dogs in addition to the gorgeous saluki lady we followed home. Rocky and I are a little scared of these other dogs, so we have not been nice to them...Because of this, we aren't allowed in the same part of the house that they are. Our foster mom says that this animal behavioralist will be able to help us become more friendly towards other dogs. I hope so.

My name is Rocky and I am a stray dog. Last night, my brother and I followed an attractive saluki to her home. When we got there, the salukis people put leashes on us and took us into their home. They gave us baths because dirty dogs are not allowed into their house and then they gave us our first meal in some time.
This morning they are printing flyers with our pictures on them...They told us that they are going to find our owner and return us to him. I hope that doesn't happen. Our owner couldn't take care of us, and dumped us on the streets a few weeks ago in a nearby town...We got into some trouble out on our own and ended up at the animal shelter, which is a horrible place to be. Our owner picked us back up, but dumped us in a different town not many days later. I don't think he wants us anymore.

Our Story
Hi,
Our names are Rocky and Caramel...At least that's what our foster family calls us. We haven't had those names very long. We got those names on Saturday, July 24.
We had been running the streets in Carbondale, Illinois for several days. That night, we were running from a woman who had seen us playing in the street. We weren't sure what she was up to, but we knew that we didn't want HER to catch us.
The sun had started to go down, but we could see that there was a woman with a tall slender dog walking towards us. We thought about running from them, too, but that thin dog....She was beautiful. We couldn't take our eyes off of her. When we caught up to them, we decided to socialize with the thin lady dog (later we learned that she is called a saluki and we are supposedly staffordshire terrier/basset hound mixes). Anyhow, the human lady looked nicer than the one who had been chasing us all over town...We decided to take our chances and follow the saluki...
We followed the saluki lady all the way to her house, and decided that we should wait outside her door until she came back outside. We were already in love with her, and therefore prepared to wait a long time...Then something strange happened...The salukis owner put a leash on us and took us inside her home...
